:iconshininginthedarkness:: "deviantART is serious business. Or serious lack thereof."

Popularity, payment...
To me it's always the same, the lowest common denominator. Sure it's nice to be paid for your art, but that should be all? When art becomes a "chart thing" and every good seller's called a genius, the whole community named deviantART becomes hilarious.

Do you care? Ore are you just trying to be your little self? THE ART WARRIORS - About the beginning of a new revolution is discussed in the Community's Art Scene.

Was ist daran next level?

Just one question: If you'd be allowed to have a wish about this community called deviantART: What do you want it to be?

I wish, people would take a closer look at most of the art pieces on here. There are so many pictures on the front page that look pretty, but seem to have no depth at all, while a lot of great artists never get feedback because their works look average or even strange at first sight, but would unfold their whole potential if you'd take the time to really deal with them as a piece of art. And this is another point: favourites are nice, but comments offer the opportunity to really give the artist something he can benefit from. To my mind, there are there are far too few people making use of commenting.
I guess you notice the main point of my criticism - the speed of the internet is a nice thing on the one hand, but it enforces some claims upon art, that can and should never be met. Art should be free, and independent from external conditions.
But unfortunately these things cannot be changed, it's more than utopic.
And there still are a lot of things I love about deviantART. For example I have never seen anyone claim that a deviation was "no art", which is something I often hear in "real life".

And then sorry for my English which is not even as close to perfect as deviantART. ;D
